Overview
The Inter-Disciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) is a 5-year academic program that allows undergraduate students to simultaneously earn a B.Tech in their parent branch and an M.Tech specialisation from Semester 6 in Biomedical Engineering, Complex systems & Dynamics, Computational Engineering and Energy Systems. Students enter through JoSAA in their parent department and choose a specialization at the end of their third year, allowing them to explore an advanced engineering track.
The program is designed for students who wish to pursue research, high-impact industry roles, or postgraduate studies and want to complete both degrees without the transition cost of a separate M.Tech admission process.
Our department coordinates the following specialisations offered as part of the IDDD program: Biomedical Engineering, Complex systems & Dynamics, Computational Engineering and Energy Systems.
What the Program Develops
Specialization Tracks
Students choose one of four specialization tracks from Semester 6:
Complex Systems & Dynamics
Computational Engineering
Energy Systems
Detailed semester-wise curriculum for each specialization is available through the academic office.
Career Pathways
Graduates hold both B.Tech and M.Tech credentials, opening paths to:
Doctoral Research (PhD)
Biomedical & Engineering R&D
Product Development & Digital Twins
